Quickstart

Use an API key for server requests. Your signed-in Explorer uses a separate, short-lived credential tied to the current team member.

01

Get your key

Sign up and verify your email. Open API keys in your account and save the key when it is shown.

02

Make a request

Send Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY to GET /v1/stories from your server. Keep the key out of frontend bundles.

03

Page through stories

Pass next_cursor to the next search and deduplicate by story_id.

Free10 RPM · 24-hour delay · 7-day history · max 20
Pro120 RPM · real-time · 90-day history · max 100
Business600 RPM · real-time · full available history · max 500

Search cursors are pagination positions; re-run a full search periodically to reconcile updates.

Concepts

A story groups reports about the same occurrence. Each report retains its source: the outlet and original link. What’s confirmed distinguishes confirmed, reported and rumour classifications. Facts capture classified details in a snapshot, including unknown values. Retention follows your plan; each story also carries version information for consumers to inspect.

Facts

A Facts snapshot records details classified from the reporting. An unknown value records a detail the current snapshot has not established. New classifications refresh that snapshot. Read only the fields returned for your plan.

Read the aggregate

Call GET /v1/stories for delayed search results and inspect facts and unknown_count. Free returns aggregate Facts for stories inside its history window.

Content metadata

Newly classified reports can include a versioned content_metadata profile. It describes the content format, quote and video presence, official-statement and paywall evidence, word count, reading time, length and whether the configured source is official. Historical reports may omit the profile or return null; an unknown evidence value remains null and is not equivalent to false.

Filter precisely

Use content_format, content_length, the explicit boolean filters, and reading_time_min/reading_time_max. Boolean false matches known false values only.

Inspect safely

Check content_metadata.version before reading the profile. Treat a missing or null profile as unavailable metadata, not as negative evidence.

Save in Feeds

Pro and Business teams can store the same content filters in a Feed. Child Feed arrays add to inherited arrays; scalar values override them.

Feeds

Feeds keep an organisation’s search filters for on-demand use. In Explorer, team members run existing Feeds; owners and admins create and manage them. Business servers can also maintain a pull-based projection of committed Feed changes. A server uses its organisation API key.

Pro · Business

Save

Call POST /v1/feeds with a unique slug, name and filter. Set extends to inherit another Feed in your organisation.

Pro · Business

Run

Call GET /v1/feeds/{slug}/stories to run that search with your current plan’s story limits. List, rename and delete Feed definitions through the corresponding routes.

Run Feed →
Business

Synchronise

Activate GET /v1/feeds/{slug}/changes without a cursor, build a fresh story baseline, then poll with its next_cursor and feed_version. Apply upsert and remove operations, and persist advancing cursors even when a page is empty. Rebuild after feed_changed or cursor_expired.

Poll Feed changes →

Feed changes are pull-only. Rabona does not send notifications, Slack messages, email, webhooks, queue deliveries or managed retries from this endpoint. Filters using about_ids, entity_ids, countries, languages, sources, exclude_sources, published_after, published_before or window_hours are not streamable; run those Feeds on demand. Treat stream_inactive as unavailable and retry later.

Explorer in your CMS

Place a read-only Explorer inside a CMS at a registered HTTPS origin. An owner or admin registers the origin in Explorer settings. Each editor authorises through their verified Rabona Intel account. Free shows 24-hour-delayed story summaries; Pro and Business show the details returned by their plans.

  1. Register. Register the exact CMS origin and copy its client ID.
  2. Mount. Load https://rabonaintel.com/explorer-widget.v1.js and call RabonaExplorer.mount({ element, clientId, onReady, onStorySelected }).
  3. Choose. The editor connects, searches stories and selects one. The callback receives { storyId, title, summary }.

The iframe accepts its registered origin and uses S256 PKCE with a one-use code. Its read-only credential stays in iframe memory. The CMS receives only the selected story fields.

Browser plugin

Use the complete Explorer beside the current page. Selected text takes precedence over the page title, is limited to 256 characters and only prefills a filter. The plugin does not search until the editor explicitly submits.

Explorer beside the page you are reading.

Select a team, person or competition on any page, then open the full Rabona Intel Explorer in a Chrome side panel or Firefox sidebar. The context fills the search field but never runs a search until you choose to.

For: editors and researchers who want to check wider coverage without leaving the page in front of them.

Example: select a player’s name in a publisher report, open Rabona Explorer, review the prefilled search and decide whether to search or save it as a Feed.

Version 1.0.0 · Packages for Chrome and Firefox. Installation guide.
  1. Download. Choose the immutable package for Chrome or Firefox below.
  2. Install manually. Extract the Chrome package and load it unpacked from chrome://extensions. For Firefox testing, load the ZIP temporarily from about:debugging.
  3. Connect. Sign in through Rabona Intel. The extension uses PKCE and a short-lived delegated credential; it never receives an organisation API key.

Chrome is a direct package for manual or managed installation. Firefox is an unsigned temporary developer/test build until Firefox Add-ons signing is available. Store distribution will be added later.
